CMPUT 461 - Introduction to Natural Language Processing (NLP)

Relation Extraction & Classification

We classify the relation between head and tail entity using a Naive Bayes model based on bag-of-words (BoW) features.

POS Taggers

We compare, and contrast two part-of-speech taggers’ (HMM and Brill) performance on in-domain and out-of-domain text samples.

Language Models

We create n-gram language models that quantify the likelihood of various sound sequences occurring in the English language.

Grammar Checker

We write a grammar and a parser to parse the POS tag sequence.

Data Cleanig Task

We explore the use of regular expressions to clean input text in support of a downstream task.
